The snow is finally melting, after a little hectic snow storm over the weekend that we had. Today was some what warmer and definitely sunny! Since I'm a craze for leopard I found these babies at Zara while I was in Europe and fell in love, its a bonus that they're so comfy! I already have so many combinations with these pants, so here is the first one...but you will be seeing a lot more of them.

NYFW 2012

BCBG MAX AZIRA SPRING 2012:
Max Azira kicked off NYFW 2012 with colour-blocking and airy chiffons. Channelling the early 70's, The colour palette was a mix Mila  Kunis' wardrobe on That 70's Show and the slinky Studio 54 silhouettes of Bianca Jagger.
Offering day-to-night pieces mixed with versatile work wear (as seen in the sophisticated ease of these silky trousers). The play with sheer fabrics was subtly sexy as seen in the nonchalant reveal of skin through translucent pleats as the models strolled down the runway.

The other day was absolutely beautiful, perfect weather (nothing like Canadian winters) I decided to go with my friend Nina (chainsandblazers) to lens mill to look for some supplies for a new DIY project (stay tuned). The location felt right for some grunge feel :).

This collection was my absolute FAVOURITE at Haute Couture Spring 2012 in Paris...The gowns are to die for! The inspiration behind this masterpiece was the character Ginger McKenna played by Sharon Stone in the movie Casino, no wonder I LOVE IT! 

Haute Couture Spring 2012 *

Art and fashion unite for one of Paris' most extravagant weeks of the year. A taste for dramatic fashion, but of course! This seasons collections are delightfully over-the-top with a surplus of glamour, couldn't ask for more. Here are some of my absolute favourites. 

ELIE SAAB:
Le Sigh. This season he translates the art of couture into something we can all fully embrace, with antique pink, creamy tangerine, cool mint, and soft lemon...perfection!

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER:
Beehives and brazenly mismatched fashions strolled the runway of the designers latest Amy Whinehouse - inspired couture collection. It's only a matter of time before one of pop musics daring dressers pulls off one of these creations...can't wait!

VALENTINO:
Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri, the masterminds behind the meticulously crafted Valentino designs. The duo romances us with luxurious lace, floating chiffon and a plethora of floral whimsy. Everything miraculously looks majestic.

Idiosyncratic Fashionistas *

"I am dressed up for the theatre of my life every day." 


I cannot wait for the summer of 2012! Yes, that is because this is when the documentary is going to be released. Lina Plioplyte and Ari Seth Cohen did such a fantastic job in constructing the themes of this film, brilliant. I love everything that is being portrayed with older New York ladies. I love when I see a woman over the age of 60 being eccentric with her own individual style, it melts my heart. That's what fashion is; telling a story with your wardrobe, modern or vintage, you are stepping into different eras expressing what you admire and what has captured you in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s ect. It could derive from art, music, architecture, military...the list goes on. It seems many people are afraid to dress for themselves and build character, they're stuck in the bubble of looking like everybody else. Pop that bubble, jump out and express yourself and have fun with your wardrobe, free yourself from what you believe "normal" is or how society has coloured "normal" to be. If everyone was eccentric, the world would be perfect...or at least close to it :).

I know I've been completely MIA and I apologize, but I recently got back from my trip to Europe (I have many pictures, but I will post some from my travels since there is way too many to post all). These pictures I took before I left for my trip, and honestly I just decided to be completely all over the place with my outfit since that was my mood (packing and all) so here is to mixing textures, colour blocking, modern & vintage and just trying to be as fabulous as possible!
